Energy Update October 2009
Energy Update **
This month I changed the vantage point for the Energy Updates from Michigan to the national arena. After getting several requests from my out of state newsletter subscribers, I thought it was time to take to this level. The features are still the same (a look at the month’s moon cycles and how to use the energy for magick and manifestations), just that it now includes a view from the perspective of the nation instead of my own back yard.
This month’s full moon on the 4th occurs at 11 degrees of Aries, giving us a little extra drive and energy – a nice change from the Mercury Retrograde energy that ended at the close of September. This moon is not a cake walk though. We have a few strikes against this full moon, the first being that it is in an intercepted sign. This means that the energy of this moon doesn’t necessarily have an easy outlet and can cause frustration and a lack of direction. The full moon’s ruling planet Mars is forming several hard aspects from a sign it doesn’t really care for (Cancer) and in the twelfth house. This could translate into your ambitions and energy being out of place, like hiring a personal chef so that you get better grades in math. It may also make you a little paranoid, and this combination may express itself with rebellion or random outbursts due to a soft aspect with Uranus. The moon itself is fairly content due to an easy flowing relationship with the Ascendant of the chart (which represents personal expression and image). The first few weeks of the month look like they will simply be a time to set our communication issues straight. Try to keep a cool head, especially at school and work. You are likely to feel an energetic boost during this time, but remember to use your energy wisely! Don’t force yourself onto a project or issue that isn’t ready to budge. You may tend to be a little overzealous right now.
This Full Moon is good for increasing physical vitality, boosting drive and ambition, as well as building confidence and swagger through magick and manifestation. It occurs in the house of travel and higher education, but is in an intercepted sign. Follow your workings for these things up at the New Moon with a secondary working to release any blocks to your scholastic or travelling success!
The new moon happening on October 18th is a happier moon. This occurs in the sign of Libra and shares a ruling planet with the Midheaven in Taurus – Venus. This says to me that there will be a lot more action taken on the job front. Venus squaring Pluto may cause a momentary concern for money (i.e. national treasury), but will spark positive changes in the job market, possibly following some bad news on the same front. Jupiter on the cusp of the 7th house sparks many new relationships during this time, and communication in general seems to be much more fluid. The erratic energies of Uranus find themselves not being able to relate to the new moon, so expect to hear some complaining from rabble-rousers. All in all, this is a very sweet natured moon! (A note to my Michigan people – the Lansing chart gets pretty beat up in the area of career and public figures. This could mean some scares around unemployment, or some state budget concerns. Either way, it seems as if there could be a lot of hype over a relatively small occurrence. My advice – ignore it. It doesn’t seem to touch the ‘common folk’ as much as the media/politicians may say.)
This New Moon is excellent for releasing baggage from old relationships and opening to new ones. This is also an excellent moon for favorable legal workings. It occurs in the house of communications, and lends itself well to manifest the ability to be heard – loud and clear. Other excellent uses for the energy of this new moon include finding inner balance and workings to increase beauty.
